Tomorrow morning the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will mark the winter solstice by taking an unprecedented step to expand government’s reach into the Internet by attempting to regulate its inner workings. In doing so, the agency will circumvent Congress and disregard a recent court ruling.
How did the FCC get here?
For years, proponents of so-called “net neutrality” have been calling for strong regulation of broadband “on-ramps” to the Internet, like those provided by your local cable or phone companies. Rules are needed, the argument goes, to ensure that the Internet remains open and free, and to discourage broadband providers from thwarting consumer demand. That sounds good if you say it fast.
Nothing is broken and needs fixing, however. The Internet has been open and freedom-enhancing since it was spun off from a government research project in the early 1990s. Its nature as a diffuse and dynamic global network of networks defies top-down authority. Ample laws to protect consumers already exist. Furthermore, the Obama Justice Department and the European Commission both decided this year that net-neutrality regulation was unnecessary and might deter investment in next-generation Internet technology and infrastructure.
The Fairness Doctrine and Net Neutrality are not and never have been about fairness nor neutrality, as anyone familiar with Communist East Germany will recall the Stasi were the communist secret police, they were every where spying on everyone for any hint of disloyalty to the communist regime. They caused millions of East German citizens to simply disappear into the night.
The millions of East Germans who worked for the Stasi did not think of themselves as evil, quite the contrary, they believed themselves to be knights on shining armor protecting the East German state from evil individuals attempting to destroy their Marxist utopia from within. They believed they were on a righteous and just mission, but more importantly, they believed that any action they took in the furtherance of that goal was not merely acceptable, but demanded of them because of the importance of their mission.
FCC chairman Genachowski, like all the nameless faceless bureaucrats who formed the hierarchy’s of the Stasi, the KGB and the Gestapo before him, Genachowski believes he is on a holy mission. His mission is to protect America from the evil American public who might have opinions or information that could disrupt the plans of America’s Marxist Ruling Political Class Elitist’s.
Once upon a time America’s Marxist Ruling Political Class Elitist’s could comfortably rely on the Mainstream Media Fifth Column Treasonous Propaganda Media to present information to America that furthered the agenda of the Ruling Political Class. Then came the internet, with it’s nearly unfettered ability to distribute information uncensored by the desires of the Ruling Political Class. No the Dan Rather throbbing memo was on an isolated incident, it was not an aberration, it was not a simple example of one man allowing his own personal ideology to interfere with his journalistic integrity.
The Dan Rather throbbing memo was the epitome, the zenith of the new so called journalistic ethics. The entire Lame Stream Media ( Fifth Column Treasonous Propaganda Media ) has been operating in exactly the same way as the Dan Rather throbbing memo since the early 60’s. Walter Cronkite’s declaration of American defeat after the Tet Offensive was every bit as intentionally dishonest an attempt to deceive the America public as Dan Rather’s throbbing memo. The only difference is that in 1968 there was no internet and no way for those who knew Walter Cronkite was lying to expose his lies.
The Fifth Column Treasonous Propaganda Media has controlled the public narrative for decades utterly unopposed. They have shaped public opinion through lies deceptions and misinformation, they have betrayed the public’s trust and still manage to foist off on a significant percentage of the American public an image of honestly and integrity that is the antithesis of what they really are.
FCC chairman Genachowski intentions by implementing a fiat rule over the internet are nothing short of silencing the voices that have exposed the corrupt Fifth Column Treasonous Propaganda Media for exactly what it is, the bastard child of Joesph Goebbels and Soviet era Pravda. Genachowski is attempting to put the internet genie back in the bottle and return America to the dark ages where the Marxist propaganda of the Fifth Column Treasonous Propaganda Media is unassailable and unchallengeable.
Freedom and liberty have found a champion in an unrestricted and unfettered internet and America’s Marxist Ruling Political Class Elitist’s are doing everything in their power to destroy that champion. They cannot tolerate having their lies and misinformation exposed for what it really is and will make every effort to silence those who challenge them and their agenda.
