More about the upcoming CD.

Well, with the third recording session in the can the new Cd is shaping up pretty nicely. There are scheduled to be 12 tracks on the CD, which is tentatively named “You can’t get here from there”. The CD’s title is a tongue in cheek reference to what it took for me to get to where I am able to record this CD. Its been as Jerry Garcia famously said in the Grateful Dead song “Truckin” a long strange trip.

One of these days I’ll describe that trip. Though today, I’ll just post what I am calling sample1 and sample2, which are tracks from the CD which include the scratch guitar tracks the the drum tracks. For those unfamiliar with the term “Scratch track” a scratch track is a track laid down in order to get the arrangement of a song in place, but not intended to be on the actual released song.

Sample1 is as yet untitled.

While sample2’s official name is “In the Mourning”.

I’m not yet sure how many more sample tracks I will be releasing before the CD is officially released. the recording sessions should be finished sometime near the end of August 2015, which ought to allow for an early to mid September release for the finished CD.

Session 2.

Ok, as some of you know, I am in the process of recording a new album/CD. My first new album/CD since 1996. It will be my fifth. The reasons why it has been so long between albums/Cd’s, are, well complicated to say the least. The working title for the new Cd is currently “You can’t get here from there”. I’m not sure that will be the finished products title, but, its pretty likely.

I’ll be leaving for the studio in just a few minutes and will update this with more information when I get home tonight.

Most of the stuff that will be on this CD can be found in very rough form on my youtube page. Here is an example.
