An introductory treatise on American Conservative Ideology.

The election of President Donald J Trump on Nov. 8th 2016 has had a multitude of unexpected consequences. And yes, when I say “unexpected consequences” I say this with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek. For those unacquainted with the phrase “with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek” the Cambridge Dictionary defines the phrase as this.

tongue-in-cheek noun, adjective us /ˈtʌŋ·ɪnˈtʃik/

intended to be understood as a joke, although often seeming serious:
He made some tongue-in-cheek comment about being very busy cleaning his house

It is my personal opinion, that perhaps the most significant of those “unexpected consequences” was the most noticed, but least understood consequences. In other words, so damned obvious, that almost nobody actually noticed it. Donald Trump ripped the masks off a profound number of people with regard to what they actually advocated ideologically, and what they professed to believe.

Between the GOP Establishment and the #NeverTrump individuals, Donald Trump shined a brilliant light on individuals who in many cases had spent the last decade or more touting themselves as leaders and spokespersons for American Conservatives. Who under that harsh unflinching glare of light, reveled themselves to hold opinions and beliefs that were antithetical to actual American Conservative ideological values.

In its simplest and most pedestrian of definitions it is generally understood that American Conservatives believe in personal responsibility, limited government, free markets, individual liberty, traditional American values and a strong national defense. Moreover they believe the role of government should be to provide people the freedom necessary to pursue their own goals.

In actual practice, American Conservationism is considerably more complex and nuanced.

Let me give you a practical and real world example of this. Milo Yiannopoulos. Milo Yiannopoulos is a outrageously outspoken and fabulously aggressive Homosexual Conservative activist and journalist. American Conservatism holds one of its most important ideological values as a foundational principal, the ethical and moral precepts of Christian theology.

One of those moral precepts is that Homosexuality is a sin before God.

1 Corinthians 6:9

You know that wicked people will not inherit the kingdom of God, don’t you? Stop deceiving yourselves! Sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals,

Homosexuality has been an unacceptable practice theologically in Christianity for nearly 2000 years. This remains the moral and theological position of the vast majority of American Conservatives even to this very day. Yet Milo Yiannopoulos is a honored and celebrated Conservative figure. How is it that this can be possible? The answer, is as I stated before. American Conservatism is far more complex and nuanced than it appears at first blush.

While it is absolutely indisputable that those who follow the Christian theological teaching as they were actually written nearly 2000 years ago consider homosexuality to be a sin and therefore unacceptable. What does not automatically follow, is that they are unable to admire, respect or love individuals who practice homosexuality. The most sacred of all Christian theological principals after all, is that we are all sinners saved only through the sacrifice of God’s only begotten son, who in obedience to his father sacrificed his life to atone for our sins.

Despite the propaganda, the hopes, desires, wishes and deceits of the politically left orientated in America, the vast majority of American Conservatives genuinely do believe and practice the concept of “Love the sinner, hate the sin”. It is not a lie or platitude thrown out to deflect accusations of homophobia. What that means in practice, is that the vast majority of American Conservatives believe that homosexuality is a sin, but since they also accept that every single person on earth is also a sinner, it makes homosexuality no greater sin than lying, or being arrogant.

In other words, to the vast majority of American Conservatives, it only means you are a human being and in the exact same need of God’s free gift of salvation as they themselves are. The consequence of this reality is that just being a homosexual does not mean that you are the devil incarnate and thus an individual incapable of making valuable and worthwhile contributions to society. It means, that homosexuals are every bit as worthy of admiration and respect as any other human being.

The left, not just in America, but pretty much the entire world, would not just like you to believe, but actually goes so far as to demand that you believe that the above not only is not true, but is a lie designed specifically for the purpose of shielding and protecting individuals who in reality would like to see homosexuals harmed, murdered and socially ostracized for no other reason than being homosexual.

There are none so intolerant as those who persecute intolerance.

Milo Yiannopoulos, like President Donald J Trump, exposes the real person under the mask. He is admired and respected by a very significant percentage of American Conservatives, not because he is a homosexual, but because he is a human being who regardless of his sexual orientation, advocates believes and works very hard at advancing moral, ethical and ideological principals that are Conservative in their very nature.

One of those moral, ethical and ideological principals that American Conservatives hold precious and dear, is individual liberty.

Definition of individual liberty. :
the liberty of those persons who are free from external restraint in the exercise of those rights which are considered to be outside the province of a government to control — compare civil liberty, political liberty.

Translation, from an American Conservative perspective: Milo Yiannopoulos sexuality is his business, not mine. It neither frightens me nor intimidates me. It most certainly and assuredly has zero impact on whether I am able to respect or admire him. This is why despite being a openly homosexual individual, Milo Yiannopoulos is a celebrity amongst American conservatives. It is not his homosexuality that makes him a celebrity, its his open and aggressive Conservative values that make him an American Conservative celebrity.

    • What the hell are you doing up at this time of day reading my insane drivel?

By the way, I am seriously in need of a job, need a imbecile to do your really stupid grunt work?

      • I’m about to become a parent, i.e. I am going to inherent a 13 year old. For the first time in my entire life, I am about to be responsible for someone other than myself. This is fucking scary, no longer is paying the rent just about having a place for me to hang out, now I need to make sure someone else has a place to live and gets fed on a regular basis. Yes, this responsibility scares the hell out of me. Its ok if you are not in a position to make a difference. But now, for the first time in my life, I really do have to start asking any and everyone if they can or will hire me.

      • Welp I have some real head scratching videos for you to look at.

Send me an email and I’ll update you about possible sources of bread. That’s hippie talk for bling.
