One has to be amused, even though annoyed, by the Iranian arrogance. I suppose that the arrogance they suffer from regarding the United States, is in a way, unavoidable. As an Islamic nation, Iran and it’s citizens cannot grasp the significance between between a Representative Government (which is what Constitutional Republics are) and Islamic Republic’s, which in truth and reality are Theocratic Dictatorships. Islamic Republic’s, like all dictatorships, do not derive their authority to govern from the consent of the Governed, but by the exercise of brutal and ruthless violence.
Therefore when an Islamic Republic makes the internal decision to engage in nationally sponsored acts of violence against another nation, whether covertly or overtly, it is neither required nor desired for any national discussion take place on whether nor not to approve said acts of violence. Since this has been the cultural norm in Iran for over a thousand years, the concept that a nations leader would or could be constrained by the citizens of their nation from unilaterally making such a decision is utterly and completely alien to those in authority in Iran.
They see America’s leaders acting with far less decisiveness than what they are capable of intellectually understanding as the role of a nations leader, and come to a frighteningly incorrect conclusion. They come to the erroneous conclusion that this apparent inability to make these kinds of decisions reflects a weakness of character endemic of all Americans.
Where this Iranian arrogance takes a mind blowing leap to lethal stupidity, is that for the last 20 years Iran has had front row seats from which they watched the United States Military in action. There isn’t a single sane rational logical military analyst on the face of the earth who has not concluded that the United States Military is without question the single most lethal military in the entire history of the human race. Iran fought Iraq for ten years and the war remained a stalemate the entire time.
Iran had front row box office seats from which to first hand witness the United States Military obliterate an even stronger, better armed and more experienced Iraqi military then they had fought, and do so in a matter of just a few short weeks. Yet, Iranian arrogance and stupidity prevented them from comprehending what unfolded right in front of their eyes. They mistook American restraint for weakness. Restraint, of course being a concept as alien to Islam as space flight is to an dung beetle.
Had American Military Forces engaged the Iraqi and Afghan insurgents in a manner consistent with Islamic religious practices, rather than those predicated upon western Judeo-Christian values and American/European legal precedents, the Iraqi and Afghan insurgencies would have lasted ever so slightly longer than the initial military conflicts had. A thousand years of Islamic culture have made it impossible for the Iranian leadership to understand this simple fact.
Washington (CNN) — A senior Iranian naval official said Iran is sending warships toward U.S. maritime borders to send a message — a move a U.S. defense official characterized as an announcement, not a deployment.
“Iran’s military fleet is approaching the United States’ maritime borders, and this move has a message,” Adm. Afshin Rezayee Haddad said, the semiofficial Fars news agency reported Saturday.
The plan, according to Fars, is a response to the United States beefing up its naval presence in the Persian Gulf. The U.S. 5th Fleet is based in Bahrain.
Haddad said the Iranian fleet was approaching the Atlantic Ocean “via the waters near South Africa,” a claim that has not been confirmed.
A U.S. military official told CNN there was no operational information to support the claim.
“They do send some ships from time to time to the Gulf of Aden for unilateral counter piracy operations. In theory, a couple of ships could go there and then off south down towards the cape,” the official said.
“Announcement not deployment”
It’s not the first time Iran has made such a threat, a U.S. defense official said.
“It’s important to understand that, at this point, we have an announcement not a deployment. They’ve stated this aspiration before,” said the defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.
In 2011, Iran twice announced plans to send ships toward the U.S. maritime borders.
“Freedom of the seas doesn’t just apply to fish. It applies to all maritime nations, all navies, everywhere — so long as they understand the responsibilities which come with that freedom,” the defense official said.
“So if they chose to send their ships to the Atlantic, I’m sure they won’t be surprised to find many, many others already there.”
Western Nations, and even China, do not engage in Taqiyya or Hudna. While military saber rattling is a long established practice, Western Nations know that their is a point where saber rattling stops being a political tool, and becomes an act of war. Unlike Islamic Nations, Western Nations do not consider war to be a sport that everyone must participate in. It isn’t something that you do during the afternoon, and then go home and brag to all of your relatives and neighbors about how brave you were. Western Nations and even the majority of Asian Nations regard war as deadly serious affair not to be engaged in lightly or as a national pastime or sport.
Iranian duplicity and dishonesty have thus far allowed them the time to engage in nuclear weapons research, that has given them the false sense of superiority and security driving their empty threats against the United States, and specifically the United States Navy. The United States of America is a constitutional republic, a Representative Government ruling by the consent of the governed as codified by the United States Constitution, were it any other form of Government, the Worlds Oceans would be uncontested, owned and operated by the United States Navy.
If Iran wants to send it’s pathetic and pitiful excuse for a Navy into the ring with the United States Navy, well, a one legged, blind, drunk hungover 95 year old man without a cane would have about as much chance at success against a pissed off 30 year old stone cold sober in perfect health US Navy Seal as the Iranian Navy will have dealing with the US Navy. In Short, the Iranian Navy had best stick to shorting insults and threats while maintaining a very safe distance, or it will find itself at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean faster than it’s crew can shout allahu akbar.
