To quote John McClane: Welcome to the party, pal.
Those of us on the right have been trying to tell you that this was coming for 5 years now, that there was no possible way that it could end any other way. Well, here it is, and here we are.
The collapse of the “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan” pledge has outraged millions of Americans who got cancellation notices from insurer over the last few weeks. The second part of that pledge, in which Barack Obama promised that those who liked their providers would not be forced to switch, is just as false, reports the Washington Post today. In the latest belated media discovery about the cost-containment mechanisms of ObamaCare, the Post notes that a gap has now opened on provider access between individual and group plans that didn’t exist before:
As Americans have begun shopping for health plans on the insurance exchanges, they are discovering that insurers are restricting their choice of doctors and hospitals in order to keep costs low, and that many of the plans exclude top-rated hospitals.
The Obama administration made it a priority to keep down the cost of insurance on the exchanges, the online marketplaces that are central to the Affordable Care Act. But one way that insurers have been able to offer lower rates is by creating networks that are far smaller than what most Americans are accustomed to.
The decisions have provoked a backlash. In one closely watched case, Seattle Children’s Hospital has filed suit against Washington’s insurance commissioner after a number of insurers kept it out of their provider networks. “It is unprecedented in our market to have major insurance plans exclude Seattle Children’s,” said Sandy Melzer, senior vice president.
The result, some argue, is a two-tiered system of health care: Many of the people who buy health plans on the exchanges have fewer hospitals and doctors to choose from than those with coverage through their employers.
A number of the nation’s top hospitals — including the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, and children’s hospitals in Seattle, Houston and St. Louis — are cut out of most plans sold on the exchange.
Welcome to Government Insurance! Hey, you didn’t really need a top-flight surgeon for your condition anyway. Maybe you should just take a pill.
Barack Obama lied, that’s the only way what he said can be parsed. “If you like your health insurance, you can keep it, period” “If you like your doctor, you can keep them, period” Well, no you can’t, which is exactly what we have been telling you for years now. Barack Obama knowingly and with a full forethought of malice lied to YOU. Yes, he lied to YOU, not me, because I knew he was lying, most of the people in America on the right knew he was lying. Hell Joe Wilson (R) of South Carolina even shouted out “You lie! back in 2009 when Obama was lying before a internationally televised joint session of congress.
Many of you consoled yourselves with a rather disturbing fantasy, you allowed yourselves to believe that it would only be a small percentage of the population who would be negatively impacted by Obamacare, that finally the rich would be forced to pay their fair share. Man what bumbling dumbshits you imbeciles were. First of all, despite your mind-numbingly stupid insistence on believing otherwise, the rich already pay far more than their fair share. Let me put this in terms even but fucking imbeciles like you should be able to understand, when was the last time you ever got a good paying job, from a unemployed or poor person?
No, contrary to the lies you were told by the Obama Administration and your favorite beloved Marxists pretending to be a democrat elected official, it won’t be a small percentage of Americans who lose their health insurance coverage, well, not unless you consider 80 to 90 percent of American citizens a small percentage.
This is one of those “I have a bone to pick” columns in terms of the media’s coverage of the ongoing Obamacare train wreck, so bear with me. Yesterday I was having my coffee and watching Morning Joe (you know… like ya do), when they had economics “expert” Steve Rattner on to explain who is being affected by Obamacare and to what extent. He kicked things off with the following chart – Steve always brings charts… it’s his thing – and his opening explanation of the first line.
“This chart basically breaks down all Americans into five groups. We start, of course, with those who are unaffected. These people, this 80%, are people who either get their health insurance through their employer, as probably most of us here do, or they’re on Medicare or they’re on Medicaid and for them, for the most part, life goes on.”
As you’ll see in the video below, he breezes right past that 80%, presenting the assumption that the vast majority of Americans are simply unaffected by Obamacare and goes on to talk about the tiny sliver of people who might be experiencing problems. (That must be a real treat for the literally millions of people who fall into some of those other categories, but that’s a story for another day.) This is a constant theme being pushed by Obamacare supporters in the media these days, and the reason I wanted to highlight it is that it’s complete garbage. For some admittedly anecdotal testimony on this, I present two examples I’ve run into personally.
More importantly, yes Obama and your favorite beloved Marxists pretending to be a democrat knew this all along. Obamacare was intentionally written this way. Why the hell do you think Nancy Pelosi said.
Because she and all your favorite beloved Marxist pretending to be a democrats knew that if the American people knew in advance what was in Obamacare, not only would you raise hell about them attempting to pass it, not one damned Marxist pretending to be a democrat would get reelected after trying to foist this piece of Marxist crap off on America.
So yes, you are well and truly screwed, and not only did you do it to yourselves, but you did it to the entire rest of the country as well. Once again, to quote Robert Conquest, when asked whether he wanted to retitle his updated The Great Terror, about the Soviet purges, those of us on the right who have been trying to tell you this for decades have little choice but to respond with his exact same answer; “Yes, how about I Told You So, You Fucking Fools?
