Like Toto in the Wizard of Oz, Chris Wallace has pulled the curtain back, only to reveal that the great and powerful Wizard of Oz is nothing more than a cheap charlatan.
“This has been one of the strangest weeks I’ve ever had in Washington,” Wallace said. “As soon as we listed Ted Cruz as our featured guest this week, I got unsolicited research and questions, not from Democrats but from top Republicans, to hammer Cruz.”
“This was a strategy laid out by Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz without any consultation with their colleagues,” said Karl Rove. “With all due respect to my junior Senator from Texas, I suspect this is the first time that the end game was described to any Republican Senator. They had to tune in to listen to you to find out what Ted’s next step was in the strategy.”
“You cannot build a Congressional majority, in either party, for any kind of action, unless you are treating your colleagues with some certain amount of respect, and saying, ‘Hey, what do you think of my idea?’” Rove said. “Instead they have dictated to their colleagues through the media, and through public statements, and not consulted them about this strategy at all.”
Sarah Palin demanded that Wallace identify his sources, but that won’t happen, and it’s almost silly to ask it. Why would he burn his sources on something this nonsensical? We could take a poll of Republican officeholders on Capitol Hill to try to solve this whodunit, which we could call 279 Little GOPians, but it might take a long time to get to the point where there are none.
Ed Morrissey, HotAir’s resident Marxist apologist immediately sprang into action, with the all to predictable “Move along folks, nothing to see here”. Ed Morrissey, who likes to pretend he is a good Catholic (about as faithful and good a Catholic as Nancy Pelosi) apparently never read the part where Jesus Christ said, “A House divided cannot long Stand”.
The GOP leadership is riddled with Marxist/Democrat infiltrators pretending to be Republicans because that’s how they obtain power and influence. When that power and influence is threatened, when their ideological agenda is threatened, they betray those who are genuinely seeking to do the will of their constitutes and what is good for the nation as a whole. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and Rand Paul are perfect examples of men who our founding fathers would have called “Statesmen”. Oh, and for those who are unaware of this fact, our founding fathers utterly despised professional Politicians like Karl Rove and John Boehner.
It was that very animus that was behind the feud and eventual pistol duel between Vice President Arron Burr and Alexander Hamilton which resulted in the death of Alexander Hamilton. Arron Burr, like Karl Rove, John Boehner and Mitch McConnell was at very best, a power hungry opportunist and professional politician, whereas Alexander Hamilton was a genuine patriot and Statesman. Arron Burr, like Rove, Boehner and McConnell waged a campaign of lies, smears and mud flung from the shadows. Like Rove, Boehner and McConnell, his only true goal, was power, influence and personal enrichment.
As a capitalist, I personally have nothing against the acquisition of power, influence and personal wealth, provided that it is done in the private market, not as a public servant. After his duel with Alexander Hamilton, in which Alexander Hamilton fired his pistol straight up in the air, and Arron Burr took careful aim and shot and killed Alexander Hamilton the American public finally recognized Arron Burr for the vile maggot that he was, Arron Burr was forced to flee Washington DC and lived out the remainder of his days as a pariah to the American people.
One can only hope that a similar fate awaits Rove, Boehner, McConnell and which ever other so called Republicans provided Chris Wallace with dirt on Ted Cruz and Mike Lee.
Now with respect to Mike Wallace and Sarah Palin’s demand that Mike turn over the names of those attacking Ted and Mike. I am not one to visit the sins of the father onto the son. Chris has in many ways attempted, and even perhaps succeeded in adopting the facade of impartiality that allowed his father, Mike Wallace, longtime CBS 60 Minutes reporter and communist apologist to mislead Americans. So while I will give Chris Wallace the benefit of the doubt until otherwise proven, just as I do Rand Paul whose father is without a doubt batshit crazy, I will not be surprised if Chris refuses Sarah Palin’s demand, claiming that he doesn’t want to lose his inside connections by exposing those within the GOP Leadership who would willingly betray their own for power, influence and personal enrichment.
