Well, it seems that the polling organization Pew has spilled the beans as it were on one of American’s biggest open secrets. Which secret you ask? That America distrusts The Fifth Column Treasonous Media….

In a Pew survey of Americans’ attitudes about occupations, journalists suffered the worst fall in the last four years while the military maintained its top position. Also interesting, and worth pondering for those in the national news who constantly harp on the GOP for its outreach to women, journalists seem to have a serious woman problem:
Compared with the ratings four years ago, journalists have dropped the most in public esteem. The share of the public saying that journalists contribute a lot to society is down 10 percentage points, from 38% in 2009 to 28% in 2013. The drop is particularly pronounced among women (down 17 points). About as many U.S. adults now say journalists contribute “not very much” or “nothing at all” to society (27%) as say they contribute a lot (28%).
Down 17 points among women over four years? Even Mitt Romney couldn’t come close to pulling that off. In seriousness, what caused the precipitous drop-off? There seems to be a very good opportunity for someone to figure this out and serve at least some of this currently poorly served market. Political news attracts a more male audience, in general, but maybe general news coverage just isn’t addressing economic worries women are facing or isn’t telling those stories in a way that appeals to them. Allow me to hope, for the sake of my gender, that the answer isn’t more Jody Arias-style coverage.
Not mentioned in the Pew story, but interesting and counterintuitive given the near-constant narrative of the last four years: business executive is the only occupation whose score went up since 2009. Granted, it’s only three points, from a paltry 21 percent who believe they contribute a lot to 24 percent, and it still resides near the bottom of the list, but it is curious that’s the one occupation trending upward as the last four years have taken a toll on every other category.
To answer Mary Katharine Ham’s question asked and bolded in the above text. I not so humbly raise my hand. Yes, it was me…. And a few thousand other lowly bloggers just like me. Those who have been reading my little insignificant blog for the last 4 years know all to well that this blog is dedicated to exposing just how corrupt the Fifth Column Treasonous Media has become.
Yet, where are Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein? Where are the new Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein? Where the hell are the entire Fifth Column Treasonous Media? Nowhere to be seen, that’s where. Those pathetic hypocrites pretending to be the Fourth Estate would rather be caught dead at a horse ranch having sex with animals than actually engage in investigative journalism that might damage Barrack Insane Obama.
To assert that the Fifth Column Treasonous Media are dishonorable deviants would require that pedophile necrophiliacs be bumped up the social ladder of respectability several rungs in order to make room for them. Even teenage male homosexual prostitutes caught in back alleys with their clients DNA splattered all over their faces have more self respect than any member of the Fifth Column Treasonous Media who is currently engaging in falling on their sword to protect the Marxist in Chief.
Oddly enough, the answer to the second part of Mary Katharine Ham’s question is pretty much the same as the first part of the answer. “There seems to be a very good opportunity for someone to figure this out and serve at least some of this currently poorly served market“. While perhaps I myself am not the answer, since if anything rather than being a Journalist, I at best could be described as a “Syndicated Op-Ed Columnist” or perhaps a Ann Coulter styled political bomb thrower. Never the less as a member of the blogging class it is I and those thousands of other bloggers who are in fact profiting from America’s intensely growing hatred of the Fifth Column Treasonous Media.
Contrary to what many might have been led to believe by what I have written over the last four years I do not wish to see the Fourth Estate destroyed. I most ardently desire to see the Fifth Column Treasonous Media destroyed and the Fourth Estate restored to what Benjamin Franklin envisioned it to be. An unbiased objective protector of the Republic and the citizens of that Republic.
