Emerging from a hearing with NSA Director Gen. Keith Alexander, Reps. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), chairman of the Intelligence Committee, and Dutch Ruppersberger (Md.), the senior Democrat on the panel, said Edward Snowden simply wasn’t in the position to access the content of the communications gathered under National Security Agency programs, as he’s claimed.
“He was lying,” Rogers said. “He clearly has over-inflated his position, he has over-inflated his access and he’s even over-inflated what the actually technology of the programs would allow one to do. It’s impossible for him to do what he was saying he could do.”
So, the bottom line is this. If Edward Snowden was lying, then he did not release any sensitive information that damaged the US. Ergo, contrary to the proclamations of House Speaker John Boenher, he cannot be a traitor.
House Speaker John Boehner today called NSA leaker Edward Snowden a “traitor” who put Americans at risk by releasing classified information to the media.
“He’s a traitor,” the highest ranking Republican in the House of Representatives said in an extensive interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. “The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk. It shows our adversaries what our capabilities are. And it’s a giant violation of the law.”
Boehner endorsed President Obama’s characterization of two programs, which allow the NSA to gather information about phone calls made in the U.S. as well as information on foreign suspects collected from major internet companies, as critical to the government’s ability to fight terrorism. He said that there are “clear safeguards” built into the programs to protect Americans.
The Fifth Column Treasonous Media and the Obamanation Administration are doing pretty much everything in their power to destroy the credibility of Snowden. If Snowden is in fact lying as they claim, why bother? There was an anecdote that came out of the Vietnam War that explains this behavior. It goes something like this.
“If you shoot at a bush and nothing happens, then it’s because their is nothing in the bush and you have the wrong target. If you shoot into a bush, and the bush shoots back, it’s because their is someone in that damned bush and you have the right target“.
If Snowden isn’t lying, that would certainly explain why the Fifth Column Treasonous Media, the Obamanation Administration and the Intelligence Community are moving heaven and earth to destroy Snowden’s reputation.
Now before you make up your mind in either direction, keep in mind that were are talking about the same Fifth Column Treasonous Media that told the American people there was nothing to see, move along when the Obamanation Administrations “Operation Fast and Furious” was accidentally exposed by the deaths of two American Law Enforcement agents.
The Same Obamanation Administration that claimed that they did not order any military unites to “Stand Down” while Ambassador Steven was being murdered in Benghazi.
The same Fifth Column Treasonous Media and Administration that told America that only a few low level rogue IRS agents in Cincinnati were involved in targeting Conservatives and TEA Party individuals for intimidation.
The same Congress that forced Obamacare on a nation where 80 percent of the public was screaming at their congressperson at the top of their lungs, “We do not want Obamacare” yet they can’t understand why their approval rating is a mere 10 percent.
Call me cynical if you must, but having the Fifth Column Treasonous Media and the various bureaucrats supporting the Obamanation Administration question the reputation and veracity of Edward Snowden when almost every senior cabinet level Obamanation official is either directly involved in, or an accessory to a scandal that involves the Obamanation Administration lying to the American People, just leaves me in the words of Hillary Clinton, incapable of achieving a willful suspension of disbelief.
Me thinks that the lady doth protest to much. Oh hell, let’s just cut to the chase, Congress and the NSA are not just protesting to much, they’ve gone full on Col. Jessep from “A Few Good Men”.
