Israel attacks Iranian missile facility.

That Israel will act preemptively to defend itself against Islamic and Arab forces that have sworn to destroy her should come as no surprise to anyone. In fact, to even remotely consider otherwise is to make the assine and insane assumption that Israel has decided to commit suicide.

Israel Tries to Cool Tension With Syria After Missile Attacks

Two Iron Dome anti-missile systems have been deployed near Israel’s northern borders, the Israeli security establishment is on high alert and requests for gas masks have quadrupled. But Israel does not appear to be expecting large-scale retaliation for its strikes on Syria in the past few days.

Jerusalem is also communicating to Damascus that its strikes – which it has not publicly admitted to – were not meant as an intervention into Syria’s two-year civil war, but rather targeted at the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah.

The strikes early Friday and Sunday mornings reportedly targeted a research center near Damascus involved in developing chemical weapons, an airport and Iranian-made ground-to-ground missiles called Fatah-110s bound for Hezbollah.

But Israel is trying to prevent “an increase in tension with Syria by making clear that if there is activity, it is only against Hezbollah, not against the Syrian regime,” a confidante of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s, Tzachi Hanegbi, told Israel Radio today.

The Israeli newspaper Yeditoh Ahronoth also reported that Israel has used diplomatic back channels to communicate to President Bashar al-Assad that it is not intervening in the civil war.

Analysts said Assad is focused on his fight against the rebels and doesn’t want to get involved with Israel right now, while Israel was not looking to engage Syria but protect its self-interests.

Israel Reportedly Attacks Syrian Facility, In An Escalation

Update at 10:30 a.m. EDT. Worries Over ‘Spillover’ of Violence:

“There’s concern here that Hezbollah may be trying to increase the number of weapons it takes out of Syria, speed up that process,” NPR’s Emily Harris tells Rachel Martin on Weekend Edition Sunday, “and it may draw Israel into a more regular series of this type of airstrike.”

Reporting from Jerusalem, Emily says that Israel has sought to increase security in its northern region, where it has built a large fence along its Syrian border. It has also conducted troop exercises along the Lebanese border.

“The Israeli government has made known that they have deployed now a couple of batteries of Iron Dome, their missile defense system, in the north,” Emily says.

As the conflict in Syria has continued, so have fears that instability and violence might spread, with neighboring countries drawn into a prolonged clash.

“It raises so many questions about spillover,” NPR’s Deborah Amos tells Rachel from Amman, Jordan, adding that the new developments “really makes people very nervous here.”

“It is very likely that Iran and Hezbollah will deepen their involvement inside Syria,” Deb says, noting that Iran condemned the attack.

Hezbollah has maintained its support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. And “we know from reports that the Iranians are supporting Syria with billions of dollars,” she says. “There are Arab analysts here who call it Iran’s ‘Vietnam.'”

Rebels in Syria are not embracing the alleged Israeli attack, Deb says. Syria’s state-run media were quick to say the raid was part of Israel’s plan to help the rebels.

“They said that Israel was supporting what they called ‘the terrorists,'” she says. “And today, rebel sources said they want to topple the regime — but they don’t want the help of the Israelis. So, it’s a sensitive escalation.”

The U.S. government is considering what role it should play in the conflict — including the option of providing weapons such as shoulder-fired missiles to the Syrian rebels, as .

What is obvious here is that Israel is engaging in preemptive strikes not against Syria, but against Iranian weapons intended to end up in the hands of Hezbollah. Having taken out the primary threat of weapons transferred to Syria but ultimately intended for Hezbollah the next obvious step is to trace those weapons back to their point of origin and strike that point of origin as well.

Report: 3 explosions heard in Tehran near missile facility

Three explosions were heard in Tehran on Tuesday, in an area where Iran carries out missile research and storage, BBC Persian reported.

It was not immediately clear if there were injuries or damage in the incident.

Due to the sensitivity of the situation in Syria, it is extremely unlikely that Israel will make any pubic admission that it was behind this incident, most likely preferring to suggest, if Israeli spokespersons remark on the incident at all, that it was most likely a internal Iranian “Work” related accident. The Israeli’s are very good at what they do in defense of Israel, meaning, that Iran is unlikely to be able to actually prove that Israel struck and destroyed weapons inside of Iran intended for Hezbollah.

Thus the Iranian response can be predicted to follow a well trod path, public condemnation of Israel, assertions that Israel was behind the attack, claims of innocence on the part of Iran… Bla bla bla, and all of that followed up by continued terrorist sponsored attacks on Israel by agents paid by Iran.

Though, an interesting turn of events has taken place with regard to this entire situation.

Report: Assad Gives U.S. 24 Hours to Respond to Letter Threatening Action Against Any Further Israeli Strikes

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad warned Monday that any further Israeli action on Syrian territory would necessitate a “declaration of war.”

The Kuwaiti newspaper Alrai reported that Assad sent a letter to Washington through Moscow to warn that any new Israeli military action would evoke an immediate response. It said Assad expected an answer from U.S. officials within 24 hours.

Sunday, Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen TV – considered close to the regime of President Assad -quoted a Syrian official as saying that the country had stationed missile batteries aimed at Israel in the aftermath of alleged Israeli air strikes on a Damascus military facility.

This action by the Assad Government essentially amounts to a third party blackmail attempt. It is clearly an act of extreme desperation on Assad’s part and appears to indicate several things.

1) Assad knows that threatening Israel directly will have no effect on Israeli decisions.
2) Assad places no faith in Iran to intervene in any way shape or form.
3) Assad believes that their is some possibility that his Russian benefactors might be able to twist Washington’s arm into attempting to restrain Israel from taking any further actions inside Syria.

Bashar Assad has clearly misread the degree of ineptness in the current administration in Mordor on the Potomac and Foggy Bottom. The a fore mentioned entities have thus far displayed a mendacious maliciousness which can really only be described as treasonous and corrupt, not mere incompetency. Hillary Clinton’s connection to known terrorist organizations has been documented in previous posts here at The Wilderness of Mirrors.

Huma Abedin, Hillary Clinton, and Al Qeada, the scrubbing begins.

What ties are those you ask?

Her brother, Dr. Hassan Abedin, a professor at Oxford University and senior member of the Center for Islamic Studies (OCIS) has Huma’s brother listed as a fellow and partners with a number of Muslim Brotherhood members on the Board, including al-Qaeda associate, Omar Naseef and the notorious Muslim Brotherhood leader Sheikh Youssef Qaradawi; both have been listed as OCIS Trustees. Naseef continues to serve as Board Chairman. Yes, you read correctly, that is the exact same ABDULLAH OMAR NASEEF, who was listed as DEFENDANT #97 IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA Case Number 1:02CV01616(JR) litigation over the 9/11 attack.

It is an open secret in the Arab/Muslim world that Dr. Hassan Abedin is a academic apologist for Al Qeada, Arab language publications like Al-Liwa Al-Arabi and Al-Jazeera have been publishing articles for years detailing his work to legitimize violent Jihad has a method of spreading Islamic domination of the world.

Then their is her mother, Saleha Mahmood Abedin, a professor in Saudi Arabia “belongs to the Sunni movement’s women’s division known as the Muslim Sisterhood.” During the recent uprising in Egypt, which resulted in Mubarak’s removal, “a special women’s unit within the Muslim Brotherhood served as ‘mules’ to deliver messages and acted as messengers for the terrorist group.”

The Obamanation Administration and Foggy Bottom have made the decision with a clear and unmistakable forethought of malice to provide aid and comfort to known terrorist organizations.

Chemical weapons used in Syria.

Now let’s look at the Syrian Rebels.

Jabhat al-Nusra

The Al-Nusra Front or Jabhat al-Nusra (Arabic: جبهة النصرة لأهل الشام‎ Jabhat an-Nuṣrah li-Ahl ash-Shām, “Support Front for the People of Greater Syria”), is an Al Qaida affiliate operating in Syria. The group announced its creation on 23 January 2012 during the Syrian civil war.[7] It is described as “the most aggressive and successful arm of the rebel force”.[3] The group was designated by the United States as a terrorist organisation in December 2012.[8] In April 2013, the leader of the Islamic state of Iraq released an audio statement announcing that Jabhat al-Nusra is its branch in Syria.[6] The leader of Al Nusra, Abu Mohammad al-Golani, said that the group will not merge with the Islamic state of Iraq, but still maintain allegiance to Ayman al-Zawahiri.[9]

Al Qaeda in Iraq.

al-Qaeda in Iraq (AQI), also known as al-Qaeda in Mesopotamia, is the Iraqi division of the international Salafi jihadi militant organization al-Qaeda. It is part of the Iraqi insurgency.

The group was founded in 2003 as a reaction to the American-led invasion and occupation of Iraq, and first led by the Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, who declared allegiance to Osama bin Laden’s al-Qaeda network in October 2004. It first operated under the name Jama’at al-Tawhid wal-Jihad (Arabic: جماعة التوحيد والجهاد‎, “Group of Monotheism and Jihad”); since 2004 its official name has been Tanzim Qaidat al-Jihad fi Bilad al-Rafidayn (“Organization of Jihad’s Base in Mesopotamia”).[6] Foreign fighters from outside Iraq are widely thought to play a key role in its network.[7]

Ayman al-Zawahiri

Ayman Mohammed Rabie al-Zawahiri,[2] (Arabic: أيمن محمد ربيع الظواهري‎ ʾAyman Muḥammad Rabīʿ aẓ-Ẓawāhirī, born 19 June 1951) is an Egyptian physician,[3] Islamic theologian and current leader of the militant Islamist organization al-Qaeda.[4] Ayman al-Zawahiri is a former member of Islamist organizations which have both orchestrated and carried out multiple attacks on the continents of North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

The U.S. State Department has offered a US$25 million dollar reward for information leading to al-Zawahiri’s apprehension since the 9/11 attacks and remains in effect.[5] He is under worldwide sanctions by the United Nations Security Council 1267 Committee as a member or affiliate of al-Qaeda.[6]

Syria’s al-Nusra Front swears allegiance to al-Qaida leader Ayman al-Zawahiri

The US-based SITE Monitoring Service reported Wednesday that the leader of Syria’s al-Nusra Front has pledged allegiance to al-Qaida leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri in an audio message, whilst distancing the group from claims they had merged with al-Qaida in Iraq.

“The sons of al-Nusra Front pledge allegiance to Sheikh Ayman Al-Zawahiri,” Abu Mohammed Jawlani said in the message.

He also said “we were not consulted” on an announcement made by al-Qaida in Iraq chief Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi on Tuesday that the groups had merged. “We inform you that neither the al-Nusra command nor its consultative council, nor its general manager were aware of this announcement. It reached them via the media and if the speech is authentic, we were not consulted,” Jawlani added.

He stated the group would maintain its flag and not change its behavior.

“Al-Nusra Front will not change its flag, though we will continue to be proud of the flag of the Islamic State of Iraq, of those who carry it and those who sacrifice themselves and shed their blood for it,” said Jawlani, who fought in Iraq alongside al-Qaida’s Iraqi arm. “We reassure our brothers in Syria that al-Nusra Front’s behavior will remain faithful to the image you have come to know, and that our allegiance to al-Qaida will not affect our politics in any way.”

And there you have it, Al-Nusra Front, is an Al Qaeda affiliate. Receiving support and strategic tactical guidance from none other than Osama bin Laden’s successor Ayman Al-Zawahiri.

The exact same pattern of choosing to provide aid and support for known terrorist organizations can be seen in the Obamanations misadventures in Libya where the Obamanaton Administration and Foggy Bottom helped Al Qaeda overthrow the government of Muammar Gaddafi, for which the US was handsomely rewarded by the murder of an American Ambassador and three other American federal government employes.

To say that Assad has miscalculated in thinking that Mordor on the Potomac and or Foggy Bottom might make any attempt at intervention with Israel on Syria’s behalf is likely to prove for Bashar Assad to be a fatal miscalculation. Israel is clearly going to take whatever steps it believes are in Israel’s national security interests, Mordor on the Potomac, Foggy Bottom and the Kremlin be damned.
